You don’t have to be flashy to be classy
  • I was contacted recently by Wilson to take photographs of his BMW.  Wilson had seen my pictures that I had did for Sonic Motorsports for their supercharged BMW M3.  He really liked my photos and wanted me to photograph his car.  I agreed and proceeded to set up a photoshoot for him as soon as possible because he was returning to Hong Kong for the holidays.

I have been around many BMW’s and have seen alot them styled very uniquely. I didn’t know much about his car but I knew it was silver.  Silver cars are the  most difficult to shoot because it is one of the most suttle colors.  Silver cars are for the corporate  executives that don’t want to be flashy and the last car that the highway patrol would pull over on the freeway.  Silver blends with almost every city background.  Living in the silicon valley and near San Francisco its hard to escape the tall grey corporate castles everywhere.  But, I did stumble on an empty business complex that was perfect for a car like his.

His car isn’t flashy at all.  He is not on an Air-Runner suspension so that he can rake those leaves and nor does he have crazy fitment or what many people call “Demon Camber”.  At first glance it look like a simple silver BMW, the kind your accountant probably drives.

Wilson’s car is definitely far from simple.

Sure he doesn’t have a carbon fiber hood and trunk but after all he doesn’t have an E92 M3 & doesn’t require weight reduction.  After all, he can’t go too fast in the streets in San Francisco where he attends USF for college.
