Sometimes you don’t need flash and flare to grab people’s attention.
A lot of times, a simple approach is all that’s needed.
This Lexus IS300 grabbed my attention not because of how much it stood out from the crowd,
but by how clean and simple the car was.
It got me chasing after the owner for a photoshoot who ended up being a really cool guy.
I really can’t get enough of shooting this car. It is just so photogenic! Enough rambling and onto the car;
Hard to think that this stunning Thundercloud Metallic IS300 has a rather short mod-list,
but that doesn’t take away from the sweet result that it brings.
The car is lowered on Megan Racing LP-Series, 32-way adjustable coilovers.
Yes, that ride height is static!
Can you believe that Hai Nguyen, the owner, drives this car every day during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months
at this height? Well, don’t take my word for it, just look!
The car definitely has a menacing stance rolling down the road, and even standing still.
The rolling-stock was upgraded to a set of XXR 526 wheels, 17×9 +25 front and 17×10 +20 in the rear.
Tires are Federal 595 215/40/17s all around.
The fitment is on point, and the style and finish of the wheels just add to the class
of the car.
Outside there are more simple and subtle mods that add to the overall package of the car.
A Greddy front lip and Altezza 3-bar front
grill adorn the front along with smoked side-marker lights and LED DRLs. Out back, the car has been debadged and the
rear side-marker lights have been shaved.
Inside, the stock Lexus interior was deemed nice enough for Hai and has remained untouched with the exception
of a LED interior light conversion.
The stock 2JZ-GE was left alone too save for an AEM intake and custom
exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler and Ralco short-shifter.
The result is a very clean and classy daily-driver that doesn’t stand out because it’s flashy,
but because it all flows together.
It just goes to show that it doesn’t take a huge mod-list and a big budget to build a nice car.
Sometimes the simplest of things will leave the biggest impacts.
